This story by Robert Thomas takes place in the fifties, at Christmas, in a solitary country house where the master of the house, surrounded exclusively by women, is murdered. He was almost completely cut off from the surrounding world and the only person who could get into his residence is the sexually-liberal and charming Pierette, who completes the distinctive gallery of 8 female figures, each of whom had a motive for the murder that they kept secret very well. Gradually, their jealousies, old injustices and hypocrisy come to the surface as well as many secrets which these women of various age groups and social standings would never have revealed to one another under normal circumstances.
