a moving story about a search

This very strange detective story by a British author, Mark Haddon, combines suspense, warm humour and a strong story about the search for one´s roots and about the difficulties of love for a handicapped child in such a skilful manner that its author was awarded the prestigious Whitbread Award for the best British book of the year in 2003. Last year, Haddon´s friend, renowned British playwright Simon Stephens, staged it for London’s National Theatre to an exceptional reception from spectators and critics alike. You can see this unusual production too, only a year after its London premiere!
