Andrea Kučerová was born in Brno, where she also graduated from the Secondary Industrial School of Textiles (specializing in modeling and designing clothing and theater costumes). She then worked as a freelance artist, focusing primarily on graphic design. She has created a number of posters, books, LP and CD covers, advertising materials, and publications.
In 1991, she began working with the Brno City Theater, first as a graphic designer, and then in 1993, she created her first costume designs for a production of Eugene Scribe's play A Glass of Water.
This marked the beginning of her long-standing collaboration with director Stanislav Moša, for whom she is, with a few exceptions, the exclusive costume designer. She is a regular member of his production team, not only at his home theater, but also in his foreign productions. She also collaborates on a permanent basis with directors Stanislav Slovák and Petr Gazdík, as well as with a number of other Czech and foreign directors (e.g., Janez Starina and Katja Pegan from Slovenia).
Since 2007, she has been the head of costume design at the Brno City Theater and has created costume designs and implementations for nearly two hundred productions, ranging from drama to opera and operetta to musicals, which make up the majority of her work at home and in Europe (Croatia, Switzerland, Germany, Slovenia, Luxembourg, Austria, Belgium, Italy, Spain, the Netherlands, Portugal, and Norway).
